Memory: allocation is the norm

Most memory categories we track are on allocation, including DRAM modules, SSDs, eMMC, NAND and NOR flash. Quoted lead times are commonly in the 26 to 52 week range. Industry forecasts call for NAND contract prices to rise another 15 to 20% this quarter. If your design uses memory, this is a good month to confirm your 2027 volumes and talk with us about a blanket PO to secure supply and current pricing through the first half of next year.

Discretes: check part by part

Small-signal MOSFETs and switching diodes are showing lead times of 16 to 52 weeks, and prices are still rising. Conditions vary so much by manufacturer and package that an open BoM review is the quickest way to see which lines need a buffer and which already have qualified alternates.

Upcoming Holiday closures

Chinese New Year (CNY) falls on February 6, 2027, 11 days earlier than this year, and factories typically wind down a week or two ahead of it. In Mexico, 4 holiday closure days fall between now and February.

PCB costs

Laminate costs have been climbing across the industry for quite some time now. The pressure comes from AI server demand pulling on laminate capacity, copper trading near record levels, and an ongoing shortage of glass fiber cloth. On October 13, one of the world's largest laminate producers announced another 15% increase on copper-clad laminate and prepreg, its latest in a run of consecutive increases since 2025. That's a sign the trend hasn't eased. While there are many factors that go into the price of a finished PCB board, raw material costs are one of them.
